The LitterMaid is a brilliant device that automatically rakes waste into a sealable container 10 minutes after use.

Your cat enters the box, does their business, then leaves. After 10 minutes a rake runs through the litter, scoops out clumps and deposits them in a container at the end of the box. This container is automatically sealed until your cat’s next visit, keeping odors locked in.

You can buy the LitterMaid LM900 Mega from Amazon

The LitterMaid also comes complete with a carpeted ramp that cleans your cat’s paws after he or she has been.

The LitterMaid is controlled by a sensor, which triggers a timer. If your cat goes back in the litter box before the 10 minutes is up, the sensor causes the rake to stop and reverse and the timer is reset. To operate, the unit just needs plugging into a power socket or fitting with batteries.

The litter tray is easily detached for cleaning, and refilling with clay based clumping litter. The waste container is also easily detachedfor either cleaning or disposal (the LitterMaid comes with 12 re-usable/disposable waste containers).

Product Features:

Automatically rakes waste into sealable container 10 minutes after use - no more scooping !

Large capacity – ideal for large and multiple cat households

Paw cleaning ramp and 12 reusable/disposable waste containers included

Uses clay based clumping litter – and a lot less than a conventional litter box of the same size.

Plugs into wall socket or operates by battery

29 inches long x 16 3/4 inches wide x 8 7/8 inches high

You can buy the LitterMaid LM900 Mega from Amazon here

Have a look at what a current owner has to say about it:

Mr B

I purchased this item back in February of this year. I had the old basic style litterbox that you cleaned yourself, this is a godsend. No need to keep checking if it needs to be cleaned. I use a little more than 8 pounds of this every three weeks with two large to medium female cats. There is little to no odor.

So in my opinion if you have cats and don’t like the work involved get this product.

The CatGenie 120 is the only self-flushing, self-washing litter box on the market. It automatically flushes waste then washes and sanitises itself.

The litter box is lined with washable “litter” that never needs changing. This is so your cat can dig and cover up the waste. After your cat has been, any liquid drains away from the litter in the bottom of the box for flushing. The solid waste is scooped out and turned to liquid, again for flushing. Fresh water fills the basin, and the box and litter are washed. Disinfectant then sanitises everything and the waste and water are flushed away. A hot-air blower then dries the litter and box.

You can buy the CatGenie 120 from Amazon

The only maintenance involved is replacing the disinfectant cartridge, which holds enough for 120 washes.

The CatGenie 120 is simple to plumb in with the supplied fittings. It can be supplied with fresh water from the cold water supply to a sink, toilet or washing machine. The unit can drain into a toilet or washing machine waste pipe. Once it has been plumbed in, it just needs plugging in to a power outlet.

Product Features:

Automatic litter box flushes waste away and washes itself clean

Uses litter-like washable granules to satisfy cat’s need to dig and cover – no more litter ! ! !

SaniSolution cartridge is biodegradable and recyclable, unlike cat litter

SaniSolution cartridge holds 120 washes – can be set on Cat Activation to provide 240 washes

Ideal for cats of average size and 6 months or older

Just connect the CatGenie 120 to a cold water outlet and plug in to a power outlet.

You can buy the CatGenie 120 from Amazon here

Have a look at what a current owner has to say about it:

Hedwig R (Berlin, NJ)

I was a bit reluctant to try the CatGenie because of the mixed reviews of the first model. If I make a large purchase, I’m researching the HELL out of it first. In the (almost) decade that I have been using the internet to aid in my product searches, I have not yet made a purchase that I regret. This goes triple for the CatGenie 120.

I have 3 adult cats and a smallish house, and not a ton of space, which means that the cat box ‘thing’ was always an issue. If I wasn’t extra diligent in cleaning the cat boxes at least once, but more often, twice a day, you knew it the minute that you opened the door. Short of getting rid of my cats, I didn’t know what to do.

Enter the CatGenie. The price was somewhat steep, yes, but you never have to purchase litter – it uses washable, recycled granules that are sanitized by the unit every time you run it and it hooks up to your water line, so you don’t have to dispose of anything. You have the option to set it to run on a timer, do it manually, or set it to be cat-activated. You can either hook it up to the toilet, or do what I did – hook it up to your laundry line. It comes with a T-shaped adaptor that makes this really easy. I don’t have a basement, I have a laundry closet with a sink, so the waste just gets flushed out with the dirty laundry water. I have had my CatGenie 120 since July 20??, and haven’t had to purchase litter since, so my upfront costs are definitely evening out. It will have paid for itself in a few more months.

Pros:

no more litter (permanent granules)

it sanitizes, so I’m not worried about the cats spreading germs

no scooping

no plastic bags or waste removal – everything is liquified by the unit and flushed into the sewer
my cats took to it right away, and they dig in the granules just like they did with regular litter

VERY easy to set up

big enough to accommodate cat; not so bit as to take up too much room

Cons:

the price upfront seemed a bit scary (but, as I mentioned, I haven’t been shoveling out cash for litter)

not ultra-silent, but since I have it set to manual, it doesn’t go off when I’m not expecting it.

you have to purchase refills of the sani-solution, but it’s pretty economical, and each cartridge lasts for 2-3 months, depending on how often you run the unit.

Bottom Line: this is the best cat box out there. It’s self-cleaning, super efficient, and clean. Definitely worth the money, and I recommend it.

Cats enter the globe, do their business, then go out. Seven minutes later, the globe slowly rotates, separating the clean litter from the waste. The waste is deposited into a bag in a drawer which is housed in the base, and the cleaned litter is then returned to the globe.

All you have to do is replace the bag when it’s full and add some fresh litter – no more scooping ! It is kept clean at all times so it is much more hygenic, and is great for fussy cats that won’t use a litter box that isn’t perfectly clean.

The Litter Robot is controlled by a weight sensor combined with a timer. The weight sensor also makes it very safe because it will detect if a cat goes in while the globe is rotating, causing it to stop.

Have a look at what current owners have to say about it:

tesg (Iowa),

Why I love it:

it empties into the drawer after each use (which makes my 2 cats happy to have a cleaner potty each time so they don’t have to find a spot to use)

i don’t have to worry about a mess to clean up after a weekend away or ask someone to scoop litter for me while i’m on vacation.

i have 2 cats and i only need to empty the drawer a couple of times a week (compared to twice daily scooping? are you serious? )))

it’s pretty roomy inside ( i have an 18lb cat and a 16lb cat and they both get in and out very easily)

very little odor because the waste is in the drawer underneath the globe.

you don’t need to use any special litter (just make sure it is CLUMPING litter NOT the pine stuff)).

it is very safe and will even stop turning if a cat re-enters the unit after the globe has begun to cycle.

G.Sinclair (Tacoma, WA),

Pros:

Quiet

Cleaner

There’s almost NO litter on the carpet near the unit since I set it up.

Less litter waste

The collector tray had nothing but waste clumps in it when I cleaned it (negative aspect: BOY did it smell!)

Odor? NONE (unless the drawer is open, obviously).

Capacity? I cleaned it for the first time after four full days…and I could have gone longer.

Maintenance pretty much comes down to topping off the litter (I suggest scooping your litter into a large plastic drink cup and just tossing it in) and maintaining the drawer. One of my cats is of the larger variety, and he has no problem with the interior space of the globe.
